About

Hello, I’m Sherida Gayle, LMFT
I have been a therapist for almost a decade and have been counseling children and families for more than two decades. Born in the Caribbean, I carry with me the warmth, resilience, and rich cultural heritage of my roots. Growing up among tropical sunsets and vibrant community life, I developed an early appreciation for connection, belonging, and the power of shared experiences.
As a preteen, I moved to Brooklyn, New York, where the city’s energy, diversity, and rhythm became a formative part of my life. Navigating the challenges and opportunities of urban life taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of understanding people from all walks of life.
These experiences—Caribbean and urban—have profoundly shaped my approach as a mental health clinician. They inform my cultural sensitivity, my understanding of identity and environment, and my commitment to creating a therapeutic space that is both safe and empowering.
Drawing from my Caribbean/West Indian roots, I understand the nuances of the immigrant experience, the challenges of a Caribbean-American upbringing, and the complexities of cultural assimilation. My goal is to provide a culturally informed, compassionate space where individuals, couples, and families can explore their experiences, address challenges, and harness their strengths to grow and thrive.
I specialize in supporting BIPOC, Caribbean, and general populations with concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, stress management, and relationship dynamics. Whether you are navigating personal growth, family challenges, or career transitions, I am here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
My mission is simple: to support you in building resilience, fostering connection, and achieving emotional well-being. Together, we can work toward a brighter, more empowered future.

Outside the Office
Beyond the therapy office, I am more than a therapist; I am a compassionate individual passionate about connecting with people beyond clinical settings.
I find joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it's diving into a good book, sharing laughter over a funny movie, exploring the outdoors with my husband and children, or savoring a plate of curry chicken or a slice of pizza. These moments enrich and inspire me.
As an advocate for self-care and balance, I believe in embracing the beauty of everyday experiences. Life is a mosaic of moments, and I bring a genuine, multifaceted perspective to both my role as a therapist and my personal journey navigating life's complexities alongside you.
